Sing With Us - Bournemouth Symphony Chorus

The Chorus is always interested in applications from good singers and at the moment we particularly welcome applications from Tenors and Basses. You must be be prepared to commit to rehearsals on a Tuesday evening and to singing in our concerts.

Many of our members live in the Poole/Bournemouth/Christchurch conurbation but we also have singers travel in from Dorchester and beyond to the west, the New Forest and Southampton to the east and from the north, Blandford, Warminster and Salisbury etc. We rehearse - and perform many of our concerts - at Lighthouse, Poole which is opposite Poole bus station and very near to the train station.Use the links in the menu bar on the left to find out more.

· Audition format – approx 10 minutes long, taken by the Chorus Director, Gavin Carr. Auditions take place from 6.30 pm on rehearsal days and candidates are notified of the outcome immediately.

· Audition requirements - Please prepare either a song (part-song in any language, or folksong with accompaniment), or aria (oratorio or opera), and provide music for both yourself and for accompaniment. You will also be asked to do some simple aural tests and sight reading. Successful candidates generally have previous experience of choral singing.
